Of all the systems on a vehicle, brakes are the one where cutting corners gets people hurt. Pads wear out gradually, rotors warp, calipers stick, brake fluid absorbs water and loses its boiling point, ABS sensors fail — and any one of those problems can turn a routine drive into a much shorter stopping distance than you expected. Frank's Automotive in Seguin does brake work the way the manufacturer specifies it, every time, on every make and model.

What's included

Most of the brake jobs we see fall into one of these categories:

  • Pad replacement — OEM-equivalent ceramic or semi-metallic, matched to your vehicle's brake-pressure spec
  • Rotor service — resurfaced (turned) when there's enough thickness to do it safely; replaced when there isn't. Rotors below spec can't shed enough heat to stop a vehicle safely
  • Caliper inspection and rebuild — a sticking caliper wears pads unevenly and can damage rotors quickly
  • Brake fluid check + flush — fluid is hygroscopic; it absorbs water from the atmosphere over time. Most manufacturers spec a flush every 2–3 years. Skipped flushes corrode lines and the master cylinder
  • ABS scan + signal verification — every wheel has a sensor; we read codes through Bosch diagnostic and check signals on a scope when warranted
  • Test drive — every brake service ends with a confirmed pedal feel, no pull, and no vibration

Every job is quoted in writing before we touch a wrench.

Signs you need brake service

Pay attention to:

  • Squealing at light pedal pressure — wear-indicator tab touching the rotor
  • Grinding — pad is gone; metal-on-metal is destroying the rotor
  • Pulling to one side under braking — sticking caliper or uneven pad wear
  • Soft or spongy pedal — air in lines, low fluid, or master cylinder
  • Vibration in the wheel when braking — warped rotor
  • Brake or ABS warning light — could be fluid level, parking brake, or an ABS sensor

If the pedal goes to the floor or the vehicle isn't stopping like it should, don't drive it home. Pull over and call us; we'll arrange a tow.

Why Frank's for brake work

ASE Certified technicians, the diagnostic equipment to read ABS and traction-control modules properly (not just the dashboard light), and OEM-equivalent pads and rotors that match the friction profile your vehicle was designed around. Every job carries our 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty, honored at Tech-Net shops nationwide.

Same-day brake inspections are usually available — pop the wheels off, measure the pads, scope the rotors, give you a written number. Request an appointment or call (830) 379-4840 and tell us what you've been hearing.
